Programs & Services

  • In-Class Tutoring
Innovations High School utilizes literacy and numeracy tutors who serve as co-teachers and one-on-one tutors in our English, Reading, and math classes. These tutors are also available after school for homework help and to work with students who are at risk of failing.
  • Mentoring
There are several mentoring programs available to students who qualify. Students who are interested in receiving mentoring services should contact the Dean of Students.
  • Safety
Innovations High School complies with all applicable Health and Safety laws of the State of Illinois, city of Chicago and the Federal Government.

    Weather Emergencies
    • Our school may close in the event of extreme weather emergencies. In general, Innovations closes its campus if our charter, YCCS, decides to close its campuses. In the event of extreme weather, you may call the school at 312-999-9360 to find out whether or not the school will be open or closed.

    Health Examinations
    • All students must present proof of immunity against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, measles, mumps, and rubella upon acceptance and entrance into Innovations High School (as required by the Illinois School Code). Please call the main office at 312-999-9360 for further information.
  • Specialized Services
The specialized services (diverse learners) program provides support for students who have been identified as those having special needs. Modification of the general education curriculum is made to meet individual needs and abilities and personal goals are set. Various strategies and techniques are used to promote not only academic, but behavioral, social and emotional development. Preparations are made for daily life after graduation as well, including transition plans which outline specific steps leading to successful post-secondary study and/or employment.
